So today I’m starting this blogging aspect of MadisonAvenew by sitting down to do what bloggers do. Which is to write the first thing that comes into their head everyday and hope somebody gives a poop.
It’s 5:57am so the first thing that comes into my head is a low-level buzzing thing that makes me want to go stick my head under a shower and somehow make it stop. I get up so early because it’s the only time I have to beat the crazies that invade my life every day from distracting me from having a few moments of peace to consider the progress we are making on IAPIA.
The big thing today is organizing my thoughts to get several of the things I want to accomplish during the last quarter of the year done before the entire economy crashes and the LA basin turns into a dust bowl of gas-starved abandoned beaters and attention-starved former actor/waiters with no chance of a big break. The economy doesn’t have me too spooked. I think anyone who can laugh at having watched 50% of their net worth go up in smoke in the past 48 hours, simply has an over-developed sense of humor and can weather any storm. Even the “Perfect” variety.
So now that I finished this chore, I’ll get back to work creating the future of advertising with that far-flung, rag-tag bunch of edge-runners called IAPIA. There are six of us working more or less full-time on defining just what in the hell “NeoAdvertising” looks, smells, tastes and acts like that is so much better/different than what passes for advertising today. It’s tedious work, reinventing something that people give less and less of a damn about as each day progresses. But that’s what makes it worth doing. Stop back tomorrow and I’ll bring you up to date with where we are now.
